The history of the building

The building has retained historic Art Nouveau character until today. It was built in 1912 and was owned by married couple Antonín a Růžena Humplovi, who placed an order with the architect Augustín Korba from Nusle. Even after one hundred years the building keeps still some of the interesting historical features. It has stuccoed Art Nouveau facade, terraced staircase and decorated Art Nouveau door. Richly decorated railings evoke a sense of luxury. It's worth paying attention to the etched Art Nouveau glass of balcony doors. The goal of reconstruction was to preserve and accentuate these architectural elements and point to the long history of the building.
